Black Knight Partners Names President of Firm
Dallas-based private equity firm Black Knight Partners, LP recently announced that Randy Holmes has joined the firm as its President.
Holmes, who will be based in the firm’s Atlanta office, spent the past eight years in key leadership positions with Hines Interests, one of the largest private real estate organizations in the world.
At Hines, Randy Holmes successfully managed the development, financing, acquisition, disposition, and operations of over $500 million in commercial real estate.
Rob Holmes, Founder of Black Knight Partners, LP, announced the addition of his brother to the firm, saying, “Randy is an exceptional leader, with superior management, oversight, and organizational strength. In addition to his strong general business skills, Randy provides a real estate competency and experience with institutional investors that immediately broaden the opportunities we can pursue.”
Randy Holmes graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia in 1991 and also spent a semester at Oxford University in England. Upon graduation, he worked for three years for Alexander & Alexander (now Aon). Holmes then obtained a Master of Business Administration degree in 1996 from the University of North Carolina.
While with Hines, he led the overall development of Perimeter Summit, a $600 million multi-phased, master-planned community that will ultimately feature 3 million square feet of Class A office space, 1,000 units of multi-family residential units, and accessory retail. A critical element of his project manager role included the day-to-day responsibility for capital partners GE Asset Management and Wachovia Bank.
In addition to his efforts at Perimeter Summit, Holmes was the general manager responsible for the acquisition and ongoing asset management and investor relations of the Atlanta Financial Center, a 900,000 square foot landmark office property in Buckhead. Hines, in partnership with General Motors Asset Management, acquired this property for $154 million in 2001.
In addition, Holmes was also responsible for negotiating and closing $150 million in leasing transactions including some of the largest leases recently completed in Atlanta.
Bob Voyles, Hines Senior Vice President and senior officer for the Southeast stated, “Randy's integrity, management skills, persistence and contagious positive attitude have earned him the respect of investors, lenders, tenants, brokers, co-workers and the Hines family. He is one of the finest young developers in Atlanta and I am confident that he will be successful in his new endeavors with Black Knight Partners."
