In September 2003, Black Knight Partners, LP closed an investment to form New York–based Lifestyle Media Holding Company, Inc. The new company includes the management and former assets of Lifestyle Ventures, LLC, a special-interest magazine publisher founded in 1994.

Today, Lifestyle publishes eight multi-issue titles, several annual reference guides, and is launching a ninth in Europe. In addition, the company runs widely attended conferences and is viewed as an industry expert in its segments.

Future goals include adding complementary books, CDs, videos, and Web content, and acquiring or launching new magazines.

Results: Merged company with New York-based publishing company to gain economies of scale, increase earnings, and strengthen management.
